Q&A
1. What is counseling?

Counseling is a collaborative process between a licensed mental health professional and an individual, couple and/or family navigating life's challenges toward healing, hope and peace. One of our primary goals is to create a safe and confidential space where clients feel comfortable exploring and growing through these challenges. We sit with you and meet you right where you're at, and no matter the place you find yourself, we work with you toward mutually agreed upon goals.

2. How do I know if counseling is right for me?
If you're feeling stuck, lost, overwhelmed, confused or alone, counseling can provide a safe space in which to explore, process, and overcome any barriers holding you back from a life filled with more joy, hope and peace. An outside party can be helpful in noticing patterns we are not always able to notice ourselves. Counseling can be helpful for anyone hoping to better understand, heal from and grow through their past and present in hopes of experiencing a more fulfilling future.

3. What types of counseling do you offer?
We offer a range of therapeutic services, including individual counseling for adults and teens, couples counseling for those dating, engaged, married or moving toward separation, family therapy and trauma therapy. We specialize meeting with people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, feeling stuck, relationships, parenting, trauma and spirituality.

4. How long does counseling take and how often should we meet?
The length and frequency of counseling vary based on what lead you to seek counseling as well as what you hope to gain through counseling. Following your first session, your counselor will work collaboratively with you to determine the duration and frequency with which it may be most helpful to meet.

5. Do you offer online counseling?
Yes, every session is offered both in-person and online. For online sessions, you'll receive a link via email 10 minutes before the start of each session. Each link is unique to that session, so there is no need to bookmark a link for future reference. We do prefer the first session to be in-person, however, we understand there are exceptions to this preference.

6. How much do sessions cost?
Our session rates vary based on counselor. Please visit the fees page for more information. We do not currently accept insurance, however, we can provide for you a superbill for out-of-network insurance reimbursement.

7. What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Any session cancelled within a 24 hour time period will be charged the cost of one session. Please reach out to your counselor directly and they will be more than happy to work with you to reschedule.

8. What should I expect during my first session?
During your first session, your counselor will provide for you a brief overview for how they work with clients, as every counselor works differently. Following that, your counselor will invite you to share only as much information as you feel comfortable sharing. We believe we need to earn the right and the trust for you to share what is most important to you. We will take the time to listen to and understand the struggles you share as well as discuss areas in which you hope to see change. The session will end with your counselor discussing with you the duration and frequency with which it may be helpful to meet.
